Liner Notes: This song started as a cover of Gary Numan's song Bombers, but quickly took on a life of it's own. At first, I thought it would be cool merely to update it to refer to current events, fellows such as the Unibomber or he Oklahoma City Bomber, but then I started rearranging the guitar parts and I ended up with a pretty different song. Still, I think the influence is unmistakable if you are familiar with the original. The original Gary Numan song can be found on his album "The Plan- 1978", which I highly recommend to anybody who enjoys my music. The title of the song is also a reference to one of my favorite videogames, Bomberman by HudsonSoft. It really has nothing to do with the song. I had considered putting some Bomberman game music riffs in as a bridge or something, but I decided that it was more important to maintain copyright independence, considering the song's derivitive roots. This version of the song is a bit uncomplete... I intend to add samples from news commentary of various bombings in recent events as soon as I figure out where to obtain them... as a result, the mix may sound a bit spartan. This song does share a common theme with the rest of the album, although it isn't part of the "White Collar Punk" concept. The idea that we "do it to ourselves"... whether as individuals or as a society, our own self-destructive habits and beliefs are solely responsible for our downfall. Those who would blame society often forget that, as part of society, they are also blaming themselves. Those who try to seperate themselves from society are merely trying to absolve themselves of blame. Everybody aspires to be blameless for their own failings, to have an excuse and thus be excused. Myself included.... Especially me. |
